The New Zealand cyclist Greg Henderson has finished second in the seventh stage of the Tour of Britain, pipped at the line by Slovenia's Borut Bozic in a two-up sprint.

Bozic clocked 3 hours 24 minutes and 15 seconds for the 152 kilometre stage between Bury St Edmunds and Colchester to chip away at his deficit to tour leader, Italian Michael Albasini.

However unless catastrophe strikes, Albasini should secure overall victory after Sunday's final stage, a circuit race around the streets of London.

Henderson is in fourth place one minute and 16 seconds behind Albasini and is out of contention for the title.
