6:16 am on 21 September 2010

England's cricket captain Andrew Strauss says the players will be working closely with the England Board to explore all legal options open to them after Pakistan's chairman Ijaz Butt alleged they threw the thuird one day international.

Strauss says his players had strong misgivings about proceeding with the series at Lord's today.

But he says they recognised their responsibilities to the game and in particular to the cricket-loving public,

Strauss says they're deeply concerned and disappointed their integrity as cricketers has been brought into question and urged the Pakistani team and management to distance themselves from Butt's allegations.
