A groin injury will keep All Whites defender Tony Lochhead out of next month's friendlies against Honduras and Paraguay in Auckland and Wellington.
Lochhead will see a specialist tomorrow about a torn left adductor, which may require surgery, and if it does the Wellington Phoenix fullback could be out of action for two to four months.
It's not a recurrence of the injury that required surgery before the World Cup, where Lochhead played every minute of the All Whites' unbeaten campaign in South Africa.
He says it's still frustrating though because the All Whites seldom host teams of the calibre of Paraguay and Honduras.
Lochhead is the second World Cup All White to be ruled out with Rory Fallon recuperating from a hernia operation.
Coach Ricki Herbert will not call in a replacement for Lochhead.
