Team NZ drops in MedCup racing

6:09 am on 23 September 2010

Team New Zealand has dropped to third after the second day of the final MedCup yachting regatta off Sardinia after another bad start to the day.

Just like yesterday Dean Barker's crew failed get up to speed early finishing 11 in the first race of the day before recovering to record a second and a third.

The Argentinian boat Matador had 2 wins today to take the overall lead after 6 races... they're 5 points head of Synergy of Russia with another 2 points back to Team New Zealand.

The New Zealanders have a comfortable lead in the MedCup championship and just need a solid result here to retain their title.
