The Chennai Super Kings stormed past Black Caps star batsman Ross Taylor's Bangalore Royal Challengers and into the final of the Champions League Twenty20 tournament in South Africa, winning their semi-final by 52 runs on the Duckworth/Lewis method.
A two-hour rain period meant the match at Kingsmead was reduced to a maximum 17 overs per side.
Chennai will meet the winners of the second semi-final between the South Australian Redbacks and the Eastern Cape Warriors in Centurion.
The final is in Johannesburg on Monday.
