Waikato have moved into semi-final contention in the provincial rugby championship after beating Tasman 33-15 in Hamilton.
Hawke's Bay beat Taranaki 32-24 in Napier, while Canterbury beat Wellington 37-30 in Christchurch.
Southland top the standings with 34 points, Canterbury have 31, Auckland and Taranaki 28, Wellington 27, and Waikato and Bay of Plenty 26.
Round nine is completed this afternoon with North Harbour hosting Manawatu and Counties Manukau playing Northland at Pukekohe.
