The Canterbury lock and 2010 Crusader Isaac Ross will join the Chiefs rugby squad for the 2011 Super Rugby competition.

Head coach Ian Foster says Ross will bolster his squad's depth at lock joining Craig Clarke, Cullum Retallick and new signing Hayden Triggs in the Chiefs' second row stocks.

Ross debuted for Canterbury in 2006, playing 46 games to date.

He debuted for the Crusaders in 2007 and in 2009 played his first game for the All Blacks against France.

After narrowly missing out on the All Blacks' mid-year tour this year, Ross joined the New Zealand Maori squad for the Centenary Series.

Ross joins former Highlander Triggs and former Hurricane Scott Waldrom in the latest additions to the 2011 Chiefs squad.
