The Springbok rugby sevens side are assessing the extent of injuries suffered by three of its players during the International Sevens tournament in Rustenburg over the weekend, which South Africa won after beating Zimbabwe in the final.

Boom Prinsloo suffered concussion, MJ Mentz sustained a shoulder injury while Chris Dry has a fractured finger following the two days of action during the Commonwealth Games warm-up tournament at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

The squad have returned to Cape Town and will have the rest of the day off, but all the players will assemble at their base camp in Stellenbosch tomorrow morning for medical testing.

The Springbok sevens coach Paul Treu says he will be guided by the medical staff on whether the injured threesome will be able to travel to Dubai this Sunday before heading to Delhi on October the 8th.
