The Counties Manukau loose forward Fritz Lee has been suspended for three weeks for a dangerous high tackle on Northland's Luke Hamilton during their national provincial rugby match in Pukekohe on Sunday.

The 21-year-old was red carded by referee Chris Pollock six minutes from full time in the match that Counties won 40 - 24.

The New Zealand Rugby Union Judicial Officer Peter Hobbs considered video footage and evidence from the player together with submissions from Lee's legal representative and coach.

Having taken account of all the evidence and submissions, Mr Hobbs suspended Lee from all rugby up to, and including, Wednesday October the 20th.

He will available for selection for the team's ITM Cup round 13 match against Hawke's Bay.
