Contador calls for anti-doping regulations to be revised

Tour de France champion Alberto Contador is calling for anti-doping regulations to be revised after his positive test for a tiny amount of a banned steroid.

The 27-year-old Spaniard says the system is in doubt and should be changed.

Contador wants a limit set for substances like clenbutarol so that quantities as small as those found in his body - which he says is due to contaminated food - do not count as a positive.

Contador also categorically refuted rumours of a possible blood transfusion during the Tour and says doping authorities are welcome to test every sample he's given in the Tour, including freezing them for five years until other future tests are scientifically validated.

He says he has nothing to hide.
