Waikato have stormed into the top three of the ITM Cup standings after outscoring Northland 45-33 in the national provincial rugby clash in Whangarei.
Both sides scored five tries a piece but mooloo first five Stephen Donald's kicking proved the difference with the playmaker scoring 25 of his sides 45 points with four conversions, four penalties and a try.
The Waikato captain Nick White was relieved to win the high scoring affair against a never say die Northland.
In the Saturday night games Otago host Canterbury in Dunedin at 5:30 before top of the table Southland take on Taranaki in New Plymouth at 730pm.
