The New Zealand cricketers will begin preparations for the 2011 World Cup when they take on hosts Bangladesh in a five-match one-day series starting this evening.

Skipper Daniel Vettori says playing in Bangladesh will stand his team in good stead ahead of next year's World Cup, to be jointly hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

The Black Caps, who finished last in a triangular one-day series in Sri Lanka in August, will complete the cycle next month when they tour India for a Test and one-day series.

Vettori says they're lucky to be able to experience Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and India before the World Cup and it's the the best possible warm-up.

New Zealand have won 16 of their 17 one-dayers against Bangladesh and have been bolstered by the return of Vettori, wicketkeeper-batsman Brendon McCullum and hard-hitting batsman Jesse Ryder.
