Another close loss for NZ swimmers

For the second night running New Zealand swimmers have been squeezed out of the medals at the Delhi Commonwealth Games.

Daniel Bell just missed a medal in the 50m backstroke final, finishing 4th, 6-100th of a second from third.

Looking to celebrate his 19th birthday in style, Wellingtonian Gareth Kean was eighth in the same race.

Glenn Snyders swam his best 100m breaststroke of the season and a new games record which stood for a couple of minutes until the second semi-final.... Snyders has qualified third fastest for the final.

Aucklander Penelope Marshall was sixth in the 50m butterfly final, while Melissa Ingram has qualified 5th fastest for the 100m backstroke.
