The young New Zealand driver Shane van Gisbergen believes Sunday's Bathurst 1000 represents the best chance of his V8 Supercar career win the Mount Panorama event.
Van Gisbergen's been a strong performer on the Supercar circuit this year, claiming several podium finishes to sit in fifth spot on the championship standings.
That puts him among the likes of four-time Bathurst champ Craig Lowndes and two-time winner Garth Tander below in sixth.
He's made three Bathurst 1000 starts, for a best-place finish of 13th last year but believes his 2010 form suggests something better is on the cards this weekend.
Despite his good form he's still yet to win a V8 Supercar race but firmly believes he can do that at the biggest motorsport event in Australia.
The top 10 shootout is on Saturday before the main event, a 1000km endurance race, on Sunday.
