Kicking the difference at Lansdowne Park

6:33 pm on 10 October 2010

Tom Marshall kicked eight penalties as Tasman snatched a 41-39 victory from Bay of Plenty in their provincial rugby championship match in Blenheim.

The goalkicker Marshall stepped up on the 75th minute mark with the matchwinner, which came directly after what looked to be the decisive 3-pointer from his Bay of Plenty opposite Mike Delany from just over halfway.

Tasman led 27-19 at half-time at Lansdowne Park.

The two points Bay of Plenty earn means the Steamers stay a point behind Wellington in seventh on the table, after the Lions climbed back into the Premiership zone with their 52-23 win at North Harbour.
