Australia have taken control of their second cricket Test against India in Bangalore, thanks to a dogged century by Marcus North and a good start by their pace bowlers.

North's career-best 128 was the cornerstone of the Australian first innings which folded for 478 at tea on day two, and India finished the day on 128 for two, with Sachin Tendulkar unbeaten on 44 having passed the 14,000 run milestone in Test cricket.
