Knights get two Aussies and a Protea

South African cricket star Herschelle Gibbs and Australians Brad Hodge and David Warner will bolster the Northern Knights for at least some of this summer's domestic Twenty20 competition.

The Knights are the first local side to feature three overseas stars.

Gibbs may not play until the fourth round of the HRV Cup on December 12 due to a commitment to the Cape Cobras, so Hodge will kit up in pink for the opening four rounds.

Australian star David Warner's availability will depend on whether he is selected to play in Australia's four-day competition for New South Wales. If not required by the Blues, he'll join the Knights from round three and will be available for the end of the competition regardless.

It's likely former Black Cap Hamish Marshall will rejoin the Knights as an overseas player after the HRV Cup in January.
