Campbell inside top 10 in Portugal

The New Zealand golfer Michael Campbell admits he's more or less gone back to square one to get his game going again.

Campbell is in unfamiliar territory after emerging from a chronic form slump to post a five-under par 67 on the first day of the Portugal Masters.

It was a bogey-free round for the New Zealander, who's tied for seventh in a strong field, three strokes from the lead.

The 2005 US Open champion recently engaged the renowned Scottish coach Bob Torrance, and he feels he's already starting to benefit from his brief time with the 78-year-old.

Another Wellingtonian, Mark Brown, is two under par with three holes to play.
