Kiwis coach looking for improved set completion

The New Zealand rugby league coach Stephen Kearney says the Kiwis' ball control must improve against England in the opening match of the Four Nations in Wellington this weekend, despite their thumping Samoa 50-6 in Auckland on Saturday night.

The New Zealanders struggled to complete their sets throughout the bruising encounter and the Kiwis are well aware a similar performance will put the world champions at risk of losing in the capital.

Kearney says the Samoa result was pleasing for a first up hit-out but concedes the Kiwis must be better if they're to challenge for the Four Nations title.

New Zealand and England do battle in the opening game of the tournament at Westpac Stadium on Saturday night.
