The disgraced former Tour de France winnner Floyd Landis is to again ride the Tour of Southland.

The 35-year-old American cyclist, who competed in the Tour last year, was stripped of his 2006 Tour de France title after returning a positive test for performance enhancing drugs.

He maintained his innocence for several years but admitted using performance enhancing drugs in May this year and alleged other top international riders - including former team mate Lance Armstrong - had also used drugs.

Armstrong has always denied such allegations.

The tour of Southland begins on November the 1st and Landis will ride for the Orca Velo Merino team.
