Vettori says he'll step aside if that's what's needed

The New Zealand cricket captain Dan Vettori's revealed he's happy to step aside if that's what his bosses want.

Vettori was one of the few players to emerge from the 4-0 one day series whitewash in Bangladesh with any credit but the skipper's shouldering the blame ahead of Friday's crisis meeting.

He says it's ultimately his responsibility as captain of the team and he has to be answerable for their win-loss ratio.

But apart from highlighting the ongoing batting failures, Vettori's not sure what went wrong on the tour.

He says he may be a pessimist but he was expecting a tough time in Bangladesh and they've had trouble there before.
