Roulston concerned over Landis riding Tour of Southland

Commonwealth Games silver medallist Hayden Roulston is concerned about the entry of the controversial American cyclist Floyd Landis in this year's Tour of Southland.

The 35-year-old American cyclist, who competed in the tour last year, was stripped of his 2006 Tour de France title after returning a positive test for performance enhancing drugs.

He maintained his innocence for several years but admitted using performance enhancing drugs in May and alleged other top international riders - including former team mate Lance Armstrong - had also used drugs.

Roulston says he supported Landis riding last year despite the allegations against him.

But since he's admitted using performance enhancing drugs he's concerned Landis' participation will have a negative impact on the event.

Roulston believes Landis' inclusion in overseas events has tarnished their reputation.
