Rowers to overcome strong winds

The British rower Alan Campbell says he's looking forward to another showdown with Mahe Drysdale at next week's World Rowing Championships on Lake Karapiro... but not the wind.

Campbell is a part of a powerful Great Britain squad that dominated the World Cup series this year.

Campbell, who finished second to Drysdale at last year's world champs, believes the men's singles sculls is probably the strongest field in the regatta with so many scullers capable of winning.

He concedes the 4-time world champion New Zealander will be the one to beat, but also feels he'll have to overcome the local conditions including the wind.

The champs start on Sunday
