Samoan single-sculler Bradley Jowitt says he's preparing well ahead of his first world rowing championships, which begin on Lake Karapiro on Saturday, and he's licking his lips at a chance to go head to head with New Zealand's reigning world champion Mahe Drysdale.
Jowitt lives in Auckland but qualifies for Samoa through his mother, and will become the country's first ever international rowing representative at the event.
The 29-year-old regularly races New Zealand's top competitors, including Drysdale, and says while he's no slouch he expects a steep learning curve.
