Hawks down Adelaide in ANBL

5:51 am on 1 November 2010

The Fast-finishing basketball team the Wollongong Hawks have stormed home to defeat the Adelaide 36ers 96-82 in Adelaide in Round Three of the ANBL Championship.

The Hawks romped home with a dominant 29-18 final quarter after what had been a topsy-turvy opening three periods, with just three points separating the two teams at the final change.

The win means Wollongong split their two round three games on the infamous Perth - Adelaide roadtrip, also known as the Doomsday Double.

The 36ers (1-2) now host the Sydney Kings on Saturday, while the Hawks (3-1) are on the road again next Sunday, this time to the Melbourne Tigers.
