Phoenix lose unbeaten home record

The Wellington Phoenix have lost their two-year unbeaten run at home after going down 4-1 to the Brisbane Roar.

Brisbane were the last team to beat them at WestPac Stadium, 25 games ago, and the result takes them to the top of the table, while the Phoenix sit seventh, 14 points back.

The former Phoenix striker Kosta Barbarouses inspired the visitors, scoring after just four minutes and he was a threat all night.

Wellington, who started New Zealand international Simon Elliott after he signed as an injury replacement on Monday, fought their way back into the match with Tim Brown's equaliser on 37 minutes.

However the match belonged to Brisbane, who scored again off a deflected shot just before half-time then scored two more including the very late fourth goal.
