Yates still leads Tour of Southland

10:22 am on 4 November 2010

The New Zealand cyclist Jeremy Yates still holds onto the tour leader's yellow jersey on the Tour of Southland, but he can thank his team for still being in his position.

Yates had a flat tyre during Wednesday's fifth stage and needed his Share The Road team-mates to get him back up to speed and control the stage.

Yates still has a four-second lead over team-mate Jack Bauer.

Having won it four times in the past, including the past two years, Yates is eagerly anticipating today's 133km stage from Lumsden to the top of the Crown Range, near Queenstown.

Hayden Roulston of the Bike NZ team is in third place, 20 seconds off the leader.
