Carney in for Lockyer, no loss for Kangaroos: Marshall

1:36 pm on 5 November 2010

The Kangaroos will lose nothing with the absence of Brisbane veteran Darren Lockyer according to Kiwis skipper Benji Marshall.

Roosters five eighth Todd Carney has been picked ahead of regular captain Lockyer, with coach Tim Sheens saying the decision is form-related and not about resting Lockyer ahead of next weekend's final in Brisbane - though Sheens admits if it had been the final Lockyer would be playing.

While Carney's won a host of awards this season tomorrow night's match will be his Test debut and Marshall says he's been the form player in the NRL.

Marshall says whether it was Lockyer or Carney, the Kangaroos lose little either way - but the Kiwis are prepared.
