Internal dispute has Aussie Grand Prix under threat

6:15 am on 12 November 2010

An internal dispute is threatening the future of the Australian formula one grand prix.

The problem concerns a dispute over fees, with the Grand Prix chairman Ron Walker claiming race organisers, the Confederation of Australian Motorsport, are holding the event to ransom by demanding a million dollars to run the four day event, and acting as a monopoly.

The dispute is due to go before the FIA and the World Motorsport Council, and there's a concern that the Australian Grand Prix could be deleted from next year's formula one calendar unless a solution is found by the 19th of this month.
