CJ Bruton has played his 400th game in the Australian National Basketball League with the New Zealand Breakers 82-78 away win over Adelaide.

The veteran point guard's in his third season with the Breakers after moving from Brisbane in 2008.

The Breakers top the league with a perfect five wins from five matches, despite missing fellow guard Kirk Penney at the start of the season when he was trialling for the NBA.

Penney also missed this match and will miss the next on Sunday in Perth as he's attending his brother's wedding but Bruton says they've shown they can handle a tough road trip without him.
