Mealamu ban halved

The All Blacks hooker Keven Mealamu has had his four-week ban for head-butting the England captain Lewis Moody reduced to two weeks on appeal.

He will miss Sunday morning's match against Scotland and also next weekend's game against Ireland, but can return against Wales a week later.

Mealamu grabbed Moody's shirt and appeared to move his head towards the back of the flanker's during the All Blacks' 26-16 win last Saturday.

An International Rugby Board appeal committee chaired by South Africa's Peter Ingwersen met in Edinburgh and determined the incident was not intentional, halving the ban.
