Indian cricketers on top in Nagpur

The Indian cricketers are in control going into the afternoon session on day two of the series deciding third test in Nagpur after dismissing New Zealand for only 193 then going quickly to 89 without loss at lunch .

Gautam Gambhir's on 31 and Virender Sehwag's on 55 with New Zealand bowlers unable to replicate the performance of India's on the rain-affected first day.

The Black Caps resumed on 148 for seven after recovering from 82 for 6 before the injured Jesse Ryder and Brendon McCullum added 42 for the seventh wicket.

Ryder top-scored with 59 yesterday but McCullum was out early for 40 before pace bowler Tim Southee clubbed a quick 38, which included three sixes.

The first two tests were drawn.
