The Wellington golfer Mark Brown faded on the final day of the Hong Kong Open, dropping 10 places to finish in a tie for 16th.

Brown's one over par 71 was one of only two scores among the top-40 over par on the final day, but he still earned 43-thousand dollars for his efforts.

England's Ryder Cup star Ian Poulter held off strong challenges by his countryman Simon Dyson and the 17 year old Italian Matteo Manassero to win by one stroke with a 22-under par total, and return to the top 10 in the world rankings.
