Blackcaps fighting to save draw in thrid and deciding test

8:31 am on 22 November 2010

The New Zealand cricket captain Daniel Vettori says the Nagpur pitch could still provide some demons for the hosts and the Blackcaps must take a leaf out of India's bowling book if they're to salvage a draw in the third and deciding test.

India are firmly in control of the test heading into day three on 292 for 2 with a lead of 99 runs after the Blackcaps posted a meagre first innings total of just 193.

The Nagpur pitch is different to most on the sub-continent with the seamers having far greater success than the spin bowlers and Vettori says that plays right into the Blackcaps hands as they look to contain the rampant Indian batsmen.

Play resumes on day three at about 5pm.
