Adams to change coaches

6:03 am on 23 November 2010

New Zealand's world and Olympic champion Valerie Adams is set to change coaches in the next few weeks.

Adams has been under the guidance of Frenchman Didier Poppe this year, however she spent some time with Swiss Jean-Pierre Egger while in Europe and obviously preferred his input.

Adams changed her technique under Poppe and spemt most of the season finishing second to rival Nadzeya Ostapchuk of Belorussia.

However after working with former world champion Werner Gunthor and Jean-Pierre Egger, Adams beat Ostapchuk at a season ending event in Croatia.

Adams' manager Nick Cowan says she wants to remain based in New Zealand rather than Europe and because of her brief time she spent with Egger she now wants a change and he expects that to be finalised in the next few weeks.
