The Australian vice captain Michael Clarke batted in the Gabba nets to try to prove his fitness for the first Ashes Test against England which starts on Thursday in Brisbane.
Clarke is nursing a back problem which forced him to rest from Monday's training session.
He did some catching drills on the main oval and faced some throw-downs from Australian coach Tim Nielsen before emerging with a grin in a positive sign regarding his hopes of playing.
