This years Wimbledon finalist Tomas Berdych is still in the hunt for a place in the last four at the ATP World Tour finals in London after a 7-5 6-3 win over Andy Roddick.
The 6th-seeded Czech admitted he had been paralysed by nerves on his Tour Finals debut earlier this week when he was brushed aside by Novak Djokovic.
Berdych saved two sets points in the opening set before overpowering Roddick in the second to lift his confidence before his next match against Rafael Nadal.
