V8 star Davison confirms HRT departure

The V8 Supercar driver Will Davison has rejected a contract extension and will quit the Holden Racing Team after a dramatic change in fortunes this season

It's believed last year's championship runner-up is moving to Ford Performance Racing to fill the seat departing veteran Steve Richards is vacating.

Davison's running 21st this year will have his last drive for the Holden factory team in next week's Sydney 500 season finale.

The championship leader James Courtney is rumoured to have already spoken to HRT about a move and the New Zealand veteran Greg Murphy has also put his hand up to rejoin the team he left in 1999.
