Federer passion still fuelled by Rafa rivalry

Roger Federer might have had the last word in his rivalry with Rafael Nadal this year by winning the ATP World Tour final in London yesterday, but the Swiss great described Nadal's year as one any player "could only dream of".

The 24 year old Spaniard won three of the four grand slam titles, was unbeaten on clay courts and strengthened his iron grip on the world number one spot.

Nadal and Federer met only twice this year, but both are relishing the continuation of their rivalry next year, and 29 year old Federer's passion for the game remains undimmed.

Federer, who trails Nadal 14-9 in lifetime matches, says mens tennis is at an absolute high right now, and the Swiss winner of a record 16 grand slam titles says he can't wait for the defence of his Australian Open title in January.
