New Zealand and Malaysia have set up the expected showdown to decide top place in Pool D at the Women's World Team Squash Championships in Palmerston North.

Both will go through to the quarterfinals, but the loser tomorrow will face a tougher route to the semis.

The fifth seeded New Zealanders comfortably beat Hong Kong and the fourth seeded Malaysians had another 3-0 win over Canada.

Tamsyn Leevey and Jaclyn Hawkes quickly won in straight games and Joelle King completed the whitewash.

Shelley Kitchen was given the day off, after an impressive win yesterday in her first competitive match in over a year following the birth of baby daughter Amalia in February.

The top seeds England beat the Netherlands 3-0 and in the other Pool A match the USA defeated Austria 3-0
