The Black Caps pace bowler Daryl Tuffey is returning from India to recover from a bicep strain suffered during the first One-Day cricket International.
Selector Mark Greatbatch says Tuffey's right arm is okay when he bowls but he can't throw without pain.
Greatbatch says at this stage there'll be no replacement player.
Meanwhile the back injuries that kept Brendon McCullum and Daniel Vettori out of the opening match are still being e monitored beforem tomorrow night's second match in Jaipur.
Greatbatch says it's hoped both will be fit but Vettori's looks more likely with a final decision not expected until just before the game.
