The hosts Wellington and Otago are the only teams with two wins after the opening day of the Women's Interprovincial golf championship.
The young Wellington team edged Hawkes Bay Poverty Bay 3-2 in the first round at Miramar before holding off a strong Canterbury combination 3-2.
The defending champions Auckland and runners-up North Harbour, had the morning bye before big wins this afternoon.
Harbour were 5-0 winners over Manawatu-Wanganui while Auckland, without star Cecilia Cho until tomorrow, won 4 ½ to ½ against Southland.
The 14 district teams are divided into two sections with section play continuing until Friday with semifinals and final on Saturday.
