Northern Districts have ruled Daniel Flynn out for the first two rounds of Twenty20 championship because of a groin injury he suffered just before round two of the Plunket Shield four day competiiton.

The former Black Cap's replacement for the opening game against Central Districts in Hamilton on Thursday is Nick Horsley, who's returning to the game after a break of two years.

For round two, in Auckland, the Australian David Hussey will join his Victorian team mate Brad Hodge and play for the Knights as their second overseas player.

Hussey, who has an outstanding international Twenty20 record, is only available for one game at this point.
