Three senior players won't be involved in Pakistan's NZ tour

Pakistan's cricket selectors have omitted three senior players from their squads coming here at the end of this month for test and limited overs series.

The former captain Muhammad Yousuf, one of Pakistan's leading test batsmen, has been left out despite recovering from a groin injury which ruled him out of tests against South Africa last month, and wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal, and leg spinner Danish Kaneria have been overlooked.

Misbah-ul-Haq is captain for the two test series, the first test starting on Boxing Day in Auckland, and Shahid Afridi will be captain for the three Twenty20 matches.

The last phase of the tour will be six one day internationals.
