Australia leaned on some old classics in their light-hearted final public pitch for the 2022 World Cup in Zurich.

Crocodile Dundee star Paul Hogan and a cartoon kangaroo played a part, along with Prime Minister Julia Gillard, Governor-General Quentin Bryce, model Elle Macpherson and sporting stars Cathy Freeman and Ian Thorpe.

The Oceania Confederation, which at this stage doesn't have a vote, had previously pledged their support for the Australian bid.

Football Federation Australia chief executive Ben Buckley used his address to put forward the economic case for Australia....

Australia is up against South Korea, Qatar, the United States and Japan for the 2022 World Cup.... the American's bid included appearances from actor Morgan Freeman and former President Bill Clinton.

England, Russia, Spain and Portugal and the Netherlands and Belgium are bidding for the 2018 World Cup.

The winners will be announced tomorrow morning.
