Roar save draw against Victory in controversial fashion

The match that had everything looks set to have disciplinary consequences after tempers flared following Brisbane Roar's controversial 3-3 A-League football draw with the Melbourne Victory on Friday night.

The Roar pinched a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser from Matt McKay to stretch to their unbeaten streak to 15 matches and deny the Victory a famous win over the A-League leaders.

But Victory skipper Kevin Muscat could be in trouble for pushing Roar goalkeeping coach Fernando Vaz Alvez in the stomach in a fiery aftermath; Muscat clearly frustrated after his side had fought back from 2-0 down to lead 3-2, then concede late.

Missiles thrown from the crowd in the direction of match officials will also draw attention from A-League officials.

McKay's winning goal was laced with controversy, with Roar goalkeeper Michael Theoklitos appearing to gather a ball well outside his area ahead of the move, for which he wasn't penalised.

The ball went down the other end and McKay sneaked around Victory defender Rodrigo Vargas and got the rebound off keeper Michael Petkovic's attempted save at his feet to score.
