Two red cards marred the Wellington Phoenix 'A' side in their ASB Challenge Series midweek match with YoungHeart Manawatu in Palmerston North.
But the Phoenix reserves were already trailing 2-0 before eventually losing 3-0 at Memorial Park.
The hosts went ahead through Colin Falvey in the 33rd minute and again through Adam Cowan three minutes later for a 2-0 half-time lead.
Ashton Pett was then sent off for the Phoenix before Dale HIGHAM finished the scoring for YoungHeart Manawatue in the 69th minute, Liam Higgins leaving the visitors to play out the game with just nine men when he also got his marching orders in the 77th minute.
