Draws for Manchester United, Tottenham

Manchester United missed their chance to set a record as the first football team to go through the Champions League group stage without conceding a goal.

The Red Devils couldn't keep a clean sheet at home to free-scoring Valencia but came back from a goal down at half-time to draw 1-1 and claim the top qualifying place from their group.

Rangers drew 1-1 at Bursaspor in that pool's dead rubber.

Like Man U, Tottenham Hotspur are also already qualified for the Champions League's knockout stages and Spurs also wrapped up the top group spot with a 3-3 away draw at Dutch side FC Twente.

Inter Milan went down 3-0 at Werder Bremen but still went through behind Spurs from their pool.

Barcelona completed an untroubled progression with a 2-0 win over visitors Ruban Kazan, elimininating them as FC Copenhagen also went through with a 3-1 home victory over Panathinaikos.

Schalke secured top spot in their group with a 2-1 away win at Benfica, while Lyon also progressed with a 2-2 draw at Hapoel Tel-Aviv.
