The Melbourne Tigers' point guard Corey Homicide Williams has been named player of the week after a standout performance in his team's win over the Gold Coast Blaze in round eight of the ANBL basketball championship.
Williams had 24 points, seven rebounds and four assists in his team's 82-78 victory over the Blaze at the Cage on Saturday night, shooting 10-of-19 from the field at 53%.
Most importantly, Williams helped the Tigers to a much needed win which moved Melbourne to 2-7 and off the bottom of the ANBL ladder.
The Tigers have now gone 2-2 since Homicide joined the team, after starting the season 0-5.
