Bond and Crowe come to NZ Cricket's rescue

7:07 am on 11 December 2010

Two of New Zealand cricket's best former players , Martin Crowe and Shane Bond, have been appointed to a new committee established after the Bangladesh tour ended with losses in all four one day matches.

The chairman, Stephen Boock, says administrators have tended to exclude the views of former players without actively meaning to, often leaving them to either go to the news media or write a book.

Boock says criticism from former players hasn't been harnessed and the aim is to tap their experience and wisdom.

He says the other non-board member Gerard Gillespie has an extensive experience at club level as a player and administrator.

The committee's other board members are Chris Moller, Rob Hart and Sir John Hansen.
